Meltdown Festival

22 June 2014

Producer James Lavelle was the artist in charge of curating this year’s Meltdown Festival. Co-founder of record label Mo’Wax and one half of UNKLE, James is a musical innovator who was following in the footsteps of the likes of David Bowie, John Peel and Nick Cave.

Meltdown features a wide mix of music, art, performance and film and has been going on in London annually for the last 21 years with a new director taking to the helm each year. In a prime location, The South Bank Centre, the festival takes over some of London’s key venues such as the Royal Festival Hall, the Queen Elizabeth Hall and the Hayward Theatre.

This year’s music line up featured Chrissie Hynde, Grandmaster Flash, Giles Peterson, Neneh Cherry and of course James Lavelle performing as part of UNKLE and also together with DJ Shadow.

John Henry's were contracted to supply the backline for the festival and Project Manager Tark Bates put together the backline requirements for Jeff Mills, Indiamore, Josh Homme, Mark Lanegan, 23 Skiddo, ESG, Giles Peterson & Nick Zinner.

We supplied everything from the latest Pioneer DJ equipment to vintage Fender Rhodes pianos with Fender deluxe reverb and pro junior guitar combos being a particular favourite of most acts..
